Kickstart Your Career at Our Academy of High-Tech Manufacturing

TechniqueU is a year-long academic-based training program for individuals looking to advance their careers at Technique. We offer courses in welding, sheet metal forming, and machining, and trainees will work alongside a senior technician and take complementary courses at JAMA and Jackson College.

Applicant Qualifications

You must be a current employee of Technique with at least one year of experience in our manufacturing and shop environment.
You must be in good standing with Technique in regards to behavior, performance, and attendance.
You must have a positive attitude and be eager to learn – we love supporting the careers of those passionate about what we do!

The starting wage for all TechniqueU training courses is $20/hour, with the opportunity to increase your salary upon graduation based on performance and placement.

This opportunity is pre-apprenticeship. If desired, you can continue with an apprenticeship at no cost.

Welding Tech Academy

Study to be a welding tech in our 1-year intensive training program. During the weld rotation, you’ll spend time in each of our 5 sites in Jackson, MI, working under the guidance of certified welders.

Prototyping Tech Academy

Study to be a prototyping tech in our 1-year intensive training program. You will focus primarily on sanding and deburring parts, washing parts, loading tools, running hydraulic presses, inspecting parts, and operating laser cutting equipment. You will have the opportunity to spend time in all areas of manufacturing as part of this training.
